    Malcolm Gladwell and Adam Gopnik

    Award-winning journalist Adam Gopnik has been writing for The New Yorker since 1986. He has broadcasted regularly for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and wrote the article on American culture for the last two editions of Encyclopedia Britannica. His books include Angels and Ages, Through the Children’s Gate, Paris to the Moon, Americans in Paris and The King in the Window.

    Malcolm Gladwell has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996. In 2005 he was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. He is the author of The Tipping Point, Blink, and Outliers: The Story of Success, all of which were #1 New York Times best sellers. His most recent book, What the Dog Saw, is a collection of essays. This will be a freeflowing discussion about the world of ideas.

    Live from NY's 92nd Street (92YLive) is a live, satellite-broadcasted event, that allows people all over the nation to access the Y's cultural and educational programs. This event is ongoing, with our first program being the Forum on Sustainable Global Enterprise.

    This program will provide an opportunity for the audience to ask questions of the presenters, as if they were in the New York audience.  For more information about the 92YLive programs go to:http://www.92y.org/live

    Friday Night Jazz - March

    This monthly event will feature music from the The Jazz Arts Music Society of Palm Beach and is a great opportunity to see our new Library at its finest.  Wine and light snacks will be available for a small fee.  The series will take place one Friday a month from November through April 2010.

    Jim Ryan Quartet (keyboard, bass, drums & trumpet - sax or guitar TBD)

    Presented  by the Friends of the  West Palm Beach Public Library.

    Friends Members $ 2.00/General Public $ 5.00 - Pre-registration is recommended as the venue holds 150.
